Q6. What
have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
Ans: During
the process of masking my film I came across many software’s and technology
which I wasn’t aware of before. First
the equipment were introduced to us in which a tripod was a new thing that I
discovered. Most of the help I got was from youtube which helped me with their
tutorials on how to use these software’s.
The tripod
was a major help in my film even though I have used many point of views, it
bought a very stable look to the film and it wasn’t shacking the way it shacks
in a hand held. Apart from this was our cannon video camera which has a high
resolution and a built in slot for microphone so the voice can be recorded clearly
on the spot.
The
software’s that I came across during editing were adobe premier 6.5. I learned
a lot in premiere hoe to do color correction, put transitions, increase the
output of audio and effects that can be put in the video. We were given proper
classes before editing started where we were taught how to use these software’s
and later I practiced on it by experimenting with normal videos.
I had to put
premier 6.5 in my laptop due to its 1 GB ram however even after this the
editing was done smoothly as I did not have to use any after effects. All the
functions are basic and easy to understand.
Another software was audacity where I recorded the voice over’s for my
film.Audacity helped me in mix my audio and record my voice over’s
I used
xillisoft video convertor to convert my rushes to DV.
Apart from
this we had to maintain a blog of all the activities that we do in our media
class everyday and all the research, pre-production and post production work
has been posted on the blog. There has been a consistent growth in my work as
every level has taught me something new and it all collaboratively has helped
my put my product near to perfection.
I posted my film on facebook to get remarks from the audience. I made a separate facebook page:
I even posted it on twitter to attract more audience.
